Three more naughty children of classic villains are emerging from the vault for Disney’s upcoming sequel to the smash hit original Disney Channel movie, Descendants.
Descendants 2 once again picks up on the adventures of the progeny of Disney’s infamous villains (Maleficent’s daughter Mal, the Evil Queen’s daughter Evie, Cruella de Vil’s son Carlos, and Jafar’s son Jay) and their attempts to integrate into the idyllic, hero-infested kingdom of Auradon.
This time around, though, a new trio will rile Mal’s feathers: Uma, the daughter of Ursula; Gil, the son of Gaston; and Harry, the son of Captain Hook. EW has an exclusive first look at the terrorizing trio, who are all part of Uma’s pirate gang and equally resentful that they haven’t been chosen to experience life as students at the glamorous Auradon Prep.
China Anne McClain plays Uma, Thomas Doherty plays Harry, and Dylan Playfair plays Gil. Original cast members Dove Cameron, Cameron Boyce, Sofia Carson, Booboo Stewart, and Mitchell Hope are all returning, under reprising director Kenny Ortega.
“The Isle of the Lost is an island that houses the most infamous villains, so it seemed natural for a pirate gang including the offspring of Ursula, Captain Hook and Gaston to emerge as we take audiences deeper into the Descendants world,” Ortega tells EW. “As our rich story unfolds, Uma, the daughter of the sea witch Ursula, proves that she’s a force to be reckoned with as the leader of a pirate gang and the new self-proclaimed queen of the Isle.”
Ortega added: “She’s flanked here by her devoted henchmen, Harry, Captain Hook’s son, her right-hand man who is always ready for action, and the handsome yet thick-headed Gil, Gaston’s son.”
Descendants 2 recently wrapped production for a 2017 premiere on Disney Channel.
