“So what have you been up to for 20 years?”

Two decades after Trainspotting first arrived in theaters, the first full-length international trailer has now arrived for Danny Boyle’s follow-up, T2: Trainspotting, and it’s given the original film’s iconic “Choose Life” monologue a 2016 update.

This time around, choosing Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, reality TV, and revenge porn all get mentions as Renton (Ewan McGregor) reunites with Spud (Ewen Bremner), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller), and Begbie (Robert Carlyle).

An official synopsis of the film is below:

“First there was an opportunity……then there was a betrayal.

Twenty years have gone by.

Much has changed but just as much remains the same.

Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor) returns to the only place he can ever call home.

They are waiting for him: Spud (Ewen Bremner), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller), and Begbie (Robert Carlyle).

Other old friends are waiting too: sorrow, loss, joy, vengeance, hatred, friendship, love, longing, fear, regret, diamorphine, self-destruction and mortal danger, they are all lined up to welcome him, ready to join the dance.”

T2: Trainspotting opens in U.S. theaters on March 3 in limited release before going wide on March 10. Watch the trailer above, and check out some new photos from the film below.
