PICK OF THE NIGHT
People of Earth
TBS, 9 p.m.
The aliens aren’t just coming — they’re here. Executive produced by Conan O’Brien, People of Earth follows Ozzie Graham (The Daily Show‘s Wyatt Cenac) as he probes an alien-abductee support group for the truth. And, he’s surprised to find out that they might not be crazy. The endearingly bizzare comedy also stars SNL alum Ana Gasteyer as the support group’s leader and Oscar Nuñez (The Officer) as the priest who runs the church where the group meets. The invasion has begun, and it’s hilarious.
Meet your latest imported obsession: The quirky, BAFTA-winning British sitcom stars Michaela Coel (Black Mirror) as Tracey Gordon, a young virgin who loves Jesus and Beyoncé with equal vigor. That is, until she decides to embrace all the world has to offer — including sex. It’s basically a coming-of-age tale, but about a 24-year-old.
NBC, 10:01 p.m.
Next stop on this time travel adventure? The Battle of the Alamo. There, the not-the-Legends of Tomorrow team will learn “the meaning of trust and sacrifice from people prepared to die for those around them,” according to the episode’s logline. You know, some people learn lessons without having to time travel. Just saying.
