Jessica Biel has performed her civic duty, casting her vote for president. But unlike her husband, Justin Timberlake, she waited until after she was done to capture photographic evidence of the occasion, before then proceeding to make fun of him for his now infamous voting booth selfie.
On Monday, the actress shared a collage of three selfies on Instagram, each time sporting an “I Voted” sticker on a different part of her face, from the forehead to the right eye to the nose.
Her caption accompanying the photo read, “When you’re so turnt up about voting that you can do a photo shoot with your sticker and think it’s cool but then second guess, but you’ve already posted, but at least you waited to get home before snapping so you won’t almost go to jail, shout out to @justintimberlake.”
Last week, Timberlake came under hot water for a photo he took while he was in a voting booth, which he then posted to Instagram. It’s against the law in his home state of Tennessee to use your phone for taking photos in a polling place, but the local D.A.’s office decided not to investigate.
The singer appeared on The Tonight Show later in the week, making fun of the situation. “I had no idea,” he told Jimmy Fallon. “I was like, this is going to be great. Inspire people to vote! Then it was like, womp womp womp.”
Having already heard plenty of jokes at his expense, it’s no surprise that Timberlake enjoyed his wife’s Instagram humor. Upon reposting her photo, he responded, “Well played, Wifey. Well played… @jessicabiel #getoutandvote #rockthevote #votelikeyoumeanit #everyvotehashtagever P.S. No selfies in the booth.”
