James Hinchcliffe is set to dance on Monday night without his partner Sharna Burgess, PEOPLE can confirm.

The Dancing with the Stars pro will sit out this week after she injured her knee during rehearsals last Monday. Jenna Johnson, who stepped in for Burgess after she got hurt, will perform alongside the race car driver this week.

A source tells PEOPLE that, after Johnson subs in for Monday’s performance, “it’s unclear if that will continue to be the case in the weeks to come if they make it through tonight’s elimination.”

Last Monday, Burgess fell during rehearsals and wound up wearing a knee brace during her and Hinchcliffe’s performance. The 31-year-old pro dancer later told PEOPLE that she feared her injury would result in her having to drop out of the competition entirely.

“When I fell, it was pure panic,” said Burgess. “I’ve had an ACL reconstruction on that very same knee, so I was scared to death. In that split moment, you think 1,000 things, but I got up and tried to figure it out.”

“They realized there’s no tear, there’s no major swelling,” she said before Tuesday’s MRI.

As for having 22-year-old Johnson step in, Burgess said she’s confident that the fellow pro can get the job done.

“Jenna is an amazing dancer and teacher,” Burgess told PEOPLE at the time of her injury. “I’m so glad she was able to become a pro this season and I know James is in good hands with her.”

And Hinchcliffe, 29, agreed, tweeting a plea for fans to “help me in wishing @SharnaBurgess a speedy recovery! Won’t be same without her tonight but in great hands w/@Dance10Jenna.”

Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays (8 p.m. ET) on ABC.
