Friday night has been a long time coming for Bill Murray. The Chicago comedian will sing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” during the seventh-inning stretch of the Cubs’ first World Series game at Wrigley Field since 1945.
To prove his fandom, William Murray Golf — founded by Murray and his brother — shared a photo of the actor as a child, decked in Cubbies gear. “All this six-year old wanted was a @Cubs’ jacket, a hat and #WorldSeries title. Got the first two. Let’s make that third wish come true, #Chicago,” the caption reads.
Murray still has the cap and jacket. The 66-year-old popped up at a recent White House press briefing and touted Chicago’s baseball prowess just before they eliminated the Los Angeles Dodgers from the playoffs.
