Twitter announced Thursday morning that it will discontinue Vine, its short-form video app, three years after its launch in 2013. But while the app will be shut down in the following months, the company did note the website will remain online — at least for now — along with all the videos various users have produced and uploaded over the years.
Since its debut, Vine has produced its own share of memes thanks to its six-second videos spotlighting everything from incredible sports moments, brief comedic sketches, and even special effects tricks. The site also launched the careers of a few of its most popular creators — most notably “Stitches” singer Shawn Mendes — with some of its video producers even competing on The Amazing Race.
With the app coming to an end, EW decided to look back on some of the most memorable six-second videos to grace our (mostly mobile) screens.
