Maybe you heard this already but, hey, Justin Timberlake voted.
“Super under the radar,” Timberlake told his old pal Jimmy Fallon on a visit to The Tonight Show, poking fun at his own voting booth selfie that went viral this week after fans pointed out it was illegal in the state Tennessee to take a photo inside the voting booth.
“I went back home to Tennessee and voted and no one even know,” he joked. “Get out and vote, but, uh, don’t take a picture of yourself in there.” He laughed. “I had no idea! I was like, this is going to be great. Inspire people to vote! Then it was like, womp womp womp.”
Though the Shelby County DA’s office originally told EW that his illegal photo was “under review,” Amy Weirich, the county’s district attorney general, then tweeted that Timberlake was not under investigation.
“The statement released earlier today regarding Justin Timberlake & an investigation was incorrect & was released without my knowledge,” she said. “No one in our office is currently investigating this matter nor will we be using our limited resources to do so.”
Even so, Timberlake says he learned his lesson.
