David S. Pumpkins inserted into classic horror movies

You might have been forgiven for thinking movies like The Shining, Halloween, and The Ring couldn’t get any more frightening — until David S. Pumpkins came along.

The instant-classic character played by Tom Hanks in the most recent episode of Saturday Night Live — aptly described by Kate McKinnon as “a guy in a pumpkin suit with two b-boy skeletons” — has now been hilariously, if not quite seamlessly, inserted into classic horror films by Buzzfeed’s Jesse McLaren.

Watch Pumpkins work his spooky magic in Scream, Insidious, and more scary movies below, and catch up on the original “Haunted Elevator” SNL sketch above. If you’re still confused, just remember: The scariest thing to the mind is the unknown.
