Five celebrated directors from the year’s buzziest Oscar contenders will join forces at a roundtable discussion at EW PopFest on Oct. 29.

Damien Chazelle (La La Land), Barry Jenkins (Moonlight), Pablo Larraín (Jackie), David Mackenzie (Hell or High Water), and Mike Mills (20th Century Women) will make an appearance to chat about their newest releases, all of which have garnered serious awards season momentum.

Jackie star Natalie Portman has been considered a front-runner for Best Actress this year for her lead role in the Jacqueline Kennedy biopic, and Moonlight has received glowing reviews and surprising box office success for its portrayal of a young man struggling with his sexuality while growing up in a rough neighborhood. La La Land reunites Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling for a dazzling musical, while Hell or High Water has been earning raves for its take on the Western heist thriller genre. 20th Century Women, a drama about three women exploring love and freedom in the ’70s, has also been building steam.

The directors join an already stacked lineup at PopFest, which includes a panel with Jennifer Aniston and her Office Christmas Party cast, a sneak peek of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them courtesy of Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterston, performances by Nick Jonas and Tove Lo, a table read from the cast of Happy Endings an exclusive first look at Netflix’s Gilmore Girls revival from creator/executive producer Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Daniel Palladino, and a whole slew of other celebrities, performances, activities, and exclusive screenings.

EW PopFest runs from Oct. 29-30 at The Reef in Downtown Los Angeles. For more information and to purchase tickets, go to ewpopfest.com.
