Trevor Noah: Melania Trump mocked for Donald defense on Daily Show

Comedy Central

Trevor Noah does not buy Melania Trump’s defense of Donald Trump’s graphic comments about women.

On Tuesday’s episode of The Daily Show, Noah mocked the two interviews Melania gave this week, highlighting how Melania repeated similar words and phrases across both sit-downs. “At least she’s only plagiarizing herself now. That’s progress,” he joked, a reference to when Melania lifted passages from Michelle Obama’s 2008 convention speech for her own oration this summer.

But Noah was particularly focused on Melania’s defense of the 2005 Access Hollywood video that showed Donald boasting how he can grab women “by the p—y” because of his fame. In Melania’s interview with CNN, she told Anderson Cooper her husband was “egged on” by then-Access Hollywood host Billy Bush to make the remarks.

“So, wait, you’re telling me the guy — the guy who says he’s going to tax China, wall Mexico, and knock the hell out of ISIS — that guy can’t handle himself in a conversation with Billy Bush? That’s what you’re saying? He got ‘egged on’? Apparently Donald Trump gives into peer pressure a lot quicker than we realize,” Noah joked.

Later in her CNN interview, Melania also called Donald and Bush “two teenage boys” and said they should “behave better.” Donald was 59 years old at the time of the video.

“How are you going to say that with a straight face? Your 59-year-old husband is a teenage boy? But okay, I guess I understand that. If you convert it, 59 is technically only 16 in douche years,” Noah said. “And if he does act like a teenage boy, why would we let him be president? I wouldn’t even trust a teenage boy with a pair of socks, much less nuclear weapons.”
