Supergirl and Superman in Crisis recreated comic cover

Updated

Robert Falconer/The CW

Supergirl may be in some trouble when The CW series returns tonight.

As seen in the image below, Kara and her cousin Superman (a.k.a. Clark Kent) — who recently decided to extend his stay in National City — run into some super-sized trouble that results in Kara possibly going down for the count.

The image, which is a comic book cover recreation featuring a scene from tonight’s episode, references none other than DC Comics’ Crisis on Infinite Earths Vol. 1, which saw none other than The CW series’ titular hero die in its pages.

But Kara won’t be meeting her demise just yet. Not only is the show only two episodes into its second season — and first on The CW — but it has yet to introduce Lynda Carter’s turn as commander in chief, as well as James Olsen donning a heroic mantle of his own as he becomes DC Comics vigilante Guardian.

Supergirl airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW. Later this month, Supergirl herself, Melissa Benoist, and several of her other CW superhero cohorts will be making a special appearance at EW PopFest. Click the banner above for tickets and further details.
