Since the debut of the title and poster for the third Wolverine movie, Hugh Jackman and director James Mangold have been releasing new images from Logan with each passing day. The latest comes in the form of storyboard art from artist Gabriel Hardman and a snapshot of a cryptic message on a bathroom stall.
Posted to social media by Mangold, Hardman’s art previews a scene involving some car trouble — that is, Logan leaps at a vehicle and drives his claws through the windshield. The setting is hard to make out, but previously released images feature the story’s desolate location.
Meanwhile, Jackman posted another black-and-white photo online, this one with the question, “Where are all the mutants?” scrawled into a bathroom stall door. Is this reflective of the state of the mutant population in this film?
Fans have also seen first looks at Patrick Stewart’s (now much older) Professor Charles Xavier and Boyd Holbrook as the villain Pierce. The cast also features Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant, and Elizabeth Rodriguez.
Before the title’s reveal, Jackman teased ties to the Old Man Logan comic book arc. Producer Simon Kinberg also confirmed the film’s R rating and likened the tone to a Western.
Logan will debut in theaters on March 3, 2017.
