Mike Huckabee might have misremembered the ending of Jaws while recently comparing Donald Trump to Robert Shaw’s character, Quint. But one hopes that even he recalls the classic scene in which Quint describes the torpedoing of the USS Indianapolis during World War II and the appalling fate that awaited many of the men who found themselves stranded in shark-infested waters.
That incident is now the subject of a new film, USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage, which Lionsgate is distributing to VOD Oct. 14 and Saban Films is releasing in select theaters Nov. 11. Directed by Mario Van Peebles, the movie stars Nicolas Cage, Tom Sizemore, Thomas Jane, Matt Lanter, and James Remar.
