Abbi Jacobson and Dave Franco are most known for their comedic roles, but the two actors are taking a breather from laughter to star in upcoming Netflix drama 6 Balloons, which will center on the ongoing heroin epidemic, EW has confirmed.
Jacobson currently stars on Comedy Central’s Broad City, which she co-created with Ilana Glazer, while Franco most recently appeared in this year’s Nerve opposite Emma Roberts. The two previously appeared together in Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, and are also both voicing characters in The Lego Ninjago Movie, out Sept. 22, 2017.
In 6 Balloons, Jacobson will play the sister of Franco’s character, a drug addict who relapses while caring for his young daughter. Marja-Lewis Ryan, who is penning the script for the upcoming Splash remake starring Channing Tatum and Jillian Bell, wrote the screenplay and will direct.
