Legends of Tomorrow season 2 gets extended trailer

Updated

DC Entertainment

With the DC universe taking over The CW, the latest ensemble series DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is stepping “out of time” in the latest trailer that features a fistful of heroes, villains, and iconic comic book moments.

The extended trailer, shared Friday by DC Entertainment, picks up where season 1 left off with the arrival of Rex Tyler, also known as Hourman, after the Legends saved the day from Vandal Savage. He asks if it’s 2016, revealing he has traveled in time to warn the gang of their impending doom. The clip treats fans to their first glimpses at the members of the Justice Society of America, which will include Hourman, shadow controller Obsidian, cosmic staff wielder Stargirl, Citizen Steel’s grandson Commander Steel, and blind superhero Dr. Mid-Nite.

Of course, with a new squad of heroes, it’s only inevitable that villains show up to wreak havoc. Glimpses of the Legion of Doom tease trouble from the likes of Malcolm Merlyn, Reverse-Flash, and Captain Cold. If that wasn’t enough, with the theme of time jumping at the series’ disposal, more confrontations in World War II and the Nazis seem to be at hand, while Sara is honing her ninja skills. Current CW heroes Arrow, the Flash and Supergirl also appear to add some weight to the mix, but fans will have to wait until the premiere episode to see if they can stop the new villains.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow season 2 premieres Thursday, Oct. 13 on The CW.
