SNL: Lin-Manuel Miranda makes Aidy Bryant stop rapping in new promos

NBC

After joking earlier this week that even he couldn’t get tickets to Hamilton, the show he created and starred in, Lin-Manuel Miranda is fending off Aidy Bryant’s attempts at rapping in new promos for Saturday Night Live, which Miranda is hosting this weekend.

“I love Hamilton / I saw it a ton / In terms of fun / it was a ton…,” she raps about Miranda’s Tony-winning Broadway show, fading off as he stops her.

“Maybe you should take the rest of the promo off,” he advises.

But Bryant isn’t done there. Baiting Miranda in another promo, she asks if he knows who she is, leading her to sing her name in the style of the musical’s opening number, “Alexander Hamilton.”

With musical guests Twenty One Pilots standing by, they were naturally the subject of one promo joke.

“If the Twenty One Pilots are here,” Bryant begins, as Miranda jumps in, “then who’s flying the plane?”

See how the duo — Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun — react in the video above.

SNL airs Saturday at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
