Only in New York? Late Wednesday, Rosie O’Donnell tweeted at Ivanka Trump, daughter of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, after a chance encounter in Manhattan.
“In a city of 8 million — we meet face 2 face — i thank u 4 listening — mother 2 mother — on this new years week — my best 2 u,” O’Donnell wrote, referencing the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah.
A representative for O’Donnell was not immediately available to comment further on the pair’s meeting, but O’Donnell later tweeted that their encounter occurred at famed New York restaurant Nobu 57.
O’Donnell, of course, has a long history with Ivanka Trump’s father — and their feud was kicked up again when Donald Trump blasted the actress during the first presidential debate last month.
“Rosie O’Donnell, I said very tough things to her, and I think everybody would agree that she deserves it, and nobody feels sorry for her,” Donald Trump said at the time. “But you want to know the truth. I was going to say something extremely rough to Hillary, to her family, and I said to myself, ‘I can’t do it. I just can’t do it. It’s inappropriate. It’s not nice.’ She’s spent hundreds of millions of dollars on negative ads on me, many of which are absolutely untrue … I will tell you this Lester [Holt]: It’s not nice, and I don’t deserve that.”
Donald Trump had previously slammed O’Donnell as a “true loser” and a “total loser,” and also took a shot at her during a Republican debate in August of last year when moderator Megyn Kelly told the candidate, “You’ve called women you don’t like ‘fat pigs,’ ‘dogs,’ ‘slobs,’ and ‘disgusting animals’…” Donald Trump interrupted the Fox News anchor with a dig: “Only Rosie O’Donnell.”
