Over the Moat and across the Steps of Knowledge, to the Hidden Temple we go, when The Legends of the Hidden Temple TV movie premieres on Nov. 26.
However, unlike the game show on which it’s based, the 90-minute Nickelodeon flick won’t feature teams of kids competing for a shot to win treasure.
Instead it sees siblings Sadie, Noah, and Dudley (played by Isabela Moner, Colin Critchley, and Jet Jurgensmeyer) forced to take on a series of high-stakes obstacles if they are to escape alive after they break away from a boring jungle tour. They might also need to “win” a Pendant of Life or two. Lucky for them, none other than the wise talking head Olmec offers sage counsel — though the choice to follow his advice is still in their hands.
Fans of the original series will also recognize the competition’s team names will take take a literal turn for the movie, which features an actual green monkey, red jaguar, and silver snake, among others.
Host Kirk Fogg will star in the movie, while Dee Bradley Baker will voice the stone-faced (and stone-voiced) Olmec.
The Legends of the Hidden Temple TV movie will air at 8 p.m. ET on Nov. 26 on Nickelodeon.
