Everyone wants a duet with James Corden. That was certainly the case on The Late Late Show on Wednesday night when guests Kristin Chenoweth, Beth Behrs, and Julie Chen fought for their chance to sing with the Carpool Karaoke king.
Corden began the segment by introducing each of the stars, calling Chen his “favorite” and Behrs “beautiful.” But when he got to Chenoweth, the Broadway legend pouted, joking that she didn’t feel special anymore since he paid the other guests major compliments.
But Corden gained back her affection when he launched into “Endless Love,” prompting her to run to the stage, pull a mic from her bag and sing like a pro.
Behrs then appeared, asking for her own duet with Corden, and the two doubled down on Grease‘s “You’re The One That I Want.”
Chen was not pleased. “It seems to me like this is a talk show,” she said when taking the stage. “But it seems like all you ever do around here is sing.” She continued, “Ladies. He tells you you’re special. You’re not special. He sings with anybody. Haven’t you seen this show. You know what? We don’t even need James.” When he reminded her he’s the host, Chen replied, “Why don’t you move, bitch? Get out the way?”
Yep, you guessed it. The whole crew then launches into Ludacris’ “Move Bitch.” Well played, Chen.
