We’ve seen Ginny pitch, but can she bat? Viewers will find out during Thursday’s episode of Pitch as Ginny steps up to the plate in the middle of a high-tension situation: A beanball war.

The last time the Padres played the Cardinals in the world of the show, the pitcher busted Tommy’s (Ryan Dorsey) hand, landing him on the disabled list. There’s an unspoken code that the Padres want payback.

“We have an episode we’re going to do where we actually deal with the whole predicament of a woman being on the mound in the middle of a beanball game,” executive producer Paris Barclay tells EW. “Will she hit the players, and will the players hit her?”

Though Ginny batted off-screen during the series premiere, the producers wanted to “attach some meaning to her first at bat,” says EP Kevin Falls. “The first bat that you’re going to see is somebody maybe throwing at her.” Check out a sneak peek from Thursday’s episode:

Pitch airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
