Welcome back to CBS daytime, Kim Zimmer! If only it were for longer.

The Talk plans to lather up soap fans Oct. 12 by hosting a pair of mini-reunions from Guiding Light and As The World Turns. As part of CBS’ ongoing celebration for ranking No. 1 in daytime television for 30 years, The Talk will also invite cast members from current CBS sudsers The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful.

Zimmer, who played Reva Shayne on Guiding Light from 1983 to 2009, will participate in the reunion, along with her former costars Robert Newman (Joshua Lewis), Grant Aleksander (Phillip Spaulding), and Beth Chamberlin (Beth Raines). From As the World Turns, it will be Martha Byrne (Lily Snyder), Colleen Zenk (Barbara Ryan), Ellen Dolan (Margo Hughes), and Elizabeth Hubbard (Lucinda Walsh).

Guiding Light, which ran from 1952 to 2009, was noted by Guinness World Records as the longest-running soap opera in daytime. (Before airing on CBS, it ran on radio for 15 years.) In 1956, As The World Turns was launched as a sister show to GL. It aired for 54 years.

The Talk airs weekdays at 2 p.m. ET on CBS.
