Gilmore Girls fans all over the country showed their commitment to Luke’s coffee — and the show — by flocking to Luke’s Diner pop-ups on Wednesday morning. The Netflix event transformed 200 coffee shops across the country into Luke’s Diners to celebrate the show’s 16th anniversary.

While EW’s Gilmore Girls expert Samantha Highfill reported from a New York City pop-up Wednesday morning, tons of fans documented their experiences on social media. Many tweets focused on the insanely long lines, proving Netflix’s move was a hit with Gilmore Girls loyalists. And yes, fans astutely noted that the real Luke would have hated the crazy lines and the abundance of selfie takers.

Among the highlights: Fans shared snaps of their free cups of coffee, featuring Luke’s Diner sleeves and Gilmore Girls quotes, and diner staff members dressed up like Luke, wearing flannel and blue baseball caps turned backwards.

Two fans even got the attention of Lorelai, a.k.a. Lauren Graham. “@thelaurengraham Wanted you to see my friend as Lorelai and me as Sookie this morning to celebrate @GilmoreGirls!  #HappyBirthdayGilmore,” wrote one woman.

Sure enough, Graham replied to the ladies, writing, “Cute!”
