Christmas has come early for Ben Affleck. On Tuesday, Warner Bros. announced that Live By Night, which Affleck wrote, directed and starred in, will get a limited release on Dec. 25.

The film will still open nationwide on Jan. 13, 2017, but the Christmas Day limited release serves as a boost to the period piece’s awards hopes; Jan. 13 is the last day that Academy voters can submit their nominations for the 2017 Oscars. Affleck last directed Argo, which won Best Picture in 2013.

Based on Dennis Lehane’s novel of the same name, Live By Night stars Affleck as Joe Coughlin, the son of a Boston police captain (Brendan Gleeson), who’s a soldier-turned-gangster during Prohibition.

Live By Night also stars Elle Fanning, Sienna Miller, Chris Messina, Zoe Saldana, and Chris Cooper.
