Domhnall Gleeson and Margot Robbie are headed to the Hundred Acre Wood.
Fox Searchlight announced Thursday that principal photography has begun on the untitled A.A. Milne biopic, chronicling the life of the author who introduced the world to Winnie the Pooh. Gleeson stars as the beloved English writer, with Robbie playing his wife, Daphne. Inspired by his son Christopher Robin’s toys, Milne conjured the Hundred Acre Wood and its inhabitants (from Pooh and Piglet to Eeyore and Tigger). Published after World War I, Milne’s stories soon took England by storm, putting Milne and his family into the spotlight.
Will Tilston stars as Christopher Robin, with Kelly Macdonald playing his nanny, Olive. My Week with Marilyn director Simon Curtis is helming the project from a script written by Frank Cottrell Boyce and based on a screenplay by Simon Vaughan.
USA Today released several exclusive first look photos of Gleeson and Robbie in character, including a few of Tilston as the young Christopher Robin (with stuffed versions of Pooh and Piglet, of course). Check out one photo of Gleeson and Robbie below, and head to USA Today for the rest.
