Pretenders share Holy Commotion music video

Posted on

The Pretenders will return Oct. 21 with their tenth studio album, Alone. The famed new wave band has already shared lead single “Holy Commotion,” and now they’ve dropped a fun video to go along with it.

Directed and animated by Luca Monterosso Wittmann, much of the video was shot at Dan Auerbach’s Nashville studio. The Black Keys and Arcs frontman produced Alone and served as a multi-instrumentalist during the sessions.

Frontwoman Chrissie Hynde recorded Alone with Auerbach, members of the Arcs, and other session musicians who have performed with artists ranging from Johnny Cash to Lana Del Rey. Though Hynde released her solo debut, Stockholm, in 2014, Alone is the first Pretenders record since 2008’s Break Up the Concrete.

The Pretenders will hit the road with Stevie Nicks this fall on her 24 Karat Gold Tour, which kicks off Oct. 25 in Phoenix and wraps Dec. 18 in Inglewood, Calif.
