Mary J. Blige interviewed Hillary Clinton for Apple Music

Posted on

Following Monday night’s presidential debate, Apple Music released a teaser for its forthcoming special discussion between Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and singer Mary J. Blige.

Called The 411 with Mary J. Blige, the interview promises to show Clinton and Blige “like you’ve never seen them before.” In the tease, Blige sings “American Skin (41 Shots),” Bruce Springsteen’s song about police brutality, to Clinton, while grasping her hand. “If an officer stops you. Always be polite, and never ever run away. Promise momma you’ll keep your hands inside. Is it a gun? Is it a knife? Is it a wallet? This is your life. It ain’t no secret. It ain’t no secret, no secret my friend. You can get killed just for living in your American skin,” Blige sings.

“I just want to know, where do we go from here?” the R&B legend asks Clinton. Viewers will have to wait to see Clinton’s answer, as the full episode debuts Sept. 30.
