Carrie Bradshaw may be back for more fun in the Big Apple, but don’t pour a celebratory cosmo just yet.
Sarah Jessica Parker recently spoke about a potential Sex and the City reunion for Carrie, Miranda, Samantha, and Charlotte. “I think that remains an open question and discussion that will continue until it’s been resolved,” Parker told the Press Association.
The rest of iconic group hasn’t turned down the idea either. “I don’t think any of us have said no,” Parker said. The actress remains unsure whether the potential project would be “a series or movie.” Things are looking optimistic though: “I think that’s always a possibility, definitely,” she noted.
Parker spoke about the possibility of a third movie on the TODAY show a year ago: “It remains a not-often-had conversation,” she told Matt Lauer. “I know — and [writer-director] Michael Patrick [King] knows well — the story we might tell, if we ever tell it. But the real truth, and I’m not being cagey, is we’ve not discussed a when…. There is a story. When and if we tell it remains unknown.”
“It’s all really about the stories, and if you actually think you have something left to say that would make it exciting and worthwhile for the fans’ time, that’s really the question,” King told EW in 2014. “It’s really like, is there enough or more to say that would justify people risking seeing their favorite characters again? And I think there’s one chapter left.”
Parker is currently starring in another HBO show called Divorce with Thomas Haden Church, premiering October 9.
