Trespass Against Us is shaping up to be one of the most intense crime thrillers of the season, judging by its brand new trailer, which dropped Thursday morning.
The clip sees two-time Oscar-nominee Michael Fassbender playing Chad Cutler, part of a ruthless gang of thugs fronted by his father, Colby (Brendan Gleeson). With children and a wife at home, however, Chad seeks to distance himself from the family’s legacy of crime, though he ultimately agrees to conduct one last heist. But as tensions between the Cutlers and local law enforcement come to a head, Chad’s loyalty to the blood ties that bind are tested.
Adam Smith, who previously helmed several episodes of the U.K. TV series Skins, makes his narrative feature directorial debut with Trespass Against Us. Fassbender and Gleeson headline the movie, while Rory Kinnear, Sean Harris, and Lyndsey Marshall round out the film’s supporting cast. The Chemical Brothers, whom Smith previously directed on their “Don’t Think” concert film, crafted the film’s original score.
Trespass Against Us had its world premiere on Sept. 9 as part of the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival. It is set to visit other film festivals around the world throughout the remainder of the year, hitting the Zurich Film Festival on Saturday, Sept. 24, with screenings at the San Diego Film Festival and the BFI London Film Festival planned for Sept. 30 and Oct. 14, respectively.
Trespass Against Us debuts Nov. 24 exclusively on DirecTV, while A24 will distribute the film to theaters sometime in 2017. Watch the film’s full trailer above.
