Your daily guide to the most interesting stuff happening on TV and streaming. All times Eastern.

Designated Survivor

ABC, 10 p.m.

Listen, this is probably one of the most fun and exciting network pilots you’ll see this fall. I mean, it stars Kiefer Sutherland as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development who becomes the president after a bomb goes off during the president’s State of the Union address. There just aren’t enough italics to describe this crazy show!

Lethal Weapon

Fox, 8 p.m.

Some people are excited about this Damon Wayans-starring reboot of the classic action flick; others, including EW critic Darren Franich, are less so. Which camp are you in? Find out tonight.

Survivor: May the Best Generation Win

CBS, 8 p.m.

Are you a millennial or are you Gen X? Instead of taking an online quizzicle to find out, just watch this generational-battle season of Survivor to see which side you root for more. Science!

ABC, 8:30 p.m.

ABC’s Wednesday night comedy slate makes its return tonight with The Goldbergs (8 p.m.), Modern Family (9 p.m.), and black-ish (9:30 p.m.), which are all debuting their new seasons. But there’s one newbie among the group — this Minnie Driver-starring sitcom about a parent raising a son with cerebral palsy. Our critic Jeff Jensen was a big fan — check out his review here.

Fox, 9 p.m.

Cookie’s back — and this time as a teenager! (Sort of.) Plus, this season brings on Mariah Carey, Kid Cudi, and more—read all our coverage here.
