Sunday’s 68th Primetime Emmy Awards not only brought together the biggest names in TV in one room, but it also united stars on Twitter as they spoke out to congratulate one another.
When Sarah Paulson won her first Emmy for her performance as Marcia Clark in American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson, her girlfriend, Holland Taylor, posted heartfelt tweets to celebrate Paulson’s success.
“There it is,” Taylor tweeted on Sunday after Paulson, a six-time Emmy nominee, won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie. “Still in New York. Still swooning.”
Meanwhile, Kate McKinnon got some love from Hillary Clinton after nabbing the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie, becoming just the fourth Saturday Night Live cast member to win an Emmy for their work on the show. In her acceptance speech, McKinnon thanked Clinton — whom she has been impersonating as part of SNL’s coverage of the 2016 presidential race — and it didn’t take long for the Democratic presidential candidate to respond. “Congratulations on your Emmy, Kate!” she tweeted. “Big fan of yours, too.”
