Ray Fisher is getting his big film break by starring as Cyborg in the upcoming Justice League film, but the actor is showing that he might not need CGI to make him look half-machine.
On Friday, Fisher shared an impressive gym photo on Instagram showing he definitely has the physique to play Victor Stone a.k.a. Cyborg — a character he debuted in a brief cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Stone is a former college athlete who, after losing his limbs, is reconstructed by his scientist father. Fisher wrote in the caption, “Half-Man, Half-Machine… #BORGLIFE #JusticeLeague.”
Cyborg is the first film role for Fisher, whose work had mostly been in theater besides an appearance on ABC’s The Astronauts Wives Club. The actor also is set to appear in The Flash, and then his own Cyborg film — something he didn’t know when he was cast.
“I didn’t know the extent to which DC and WB had planned on taking my character,” Fisher previously said. “When I signed on, I just wanted to be part of this world. But that specific information, I found out then and there. I didn’t think I’d be getting my own stand-alone film.”
Justice League, which also stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, and Gal Gadot, charges into theaters on Nov. 17, 2017.
