The Daily Show heads to Texas for sex toy-filled student gun protest

“C–ks Not Glocks” sounds like a slogan for the latest Seth Rogen movie, but alas, this is a totally different type of Sausage Party.

On Wednesday night’s The Daily Show, Trevor Noah sent correspondent Roy Wood Jr. to the University of Texas, where a recent law allowing people with concealed handgun permits to carry their weapons on campus has caused quite a stir — and quite a protest.

“We’re fighting guns on campus with dildos,” explained Jessica Jin, a student advocate at the university. “We’re strapping gigantic dildos to our backs. We’re fighting absurdity with absurdity. It turns out it’s illegal to openly brandish a dildo in Texas.”

Despite its unusualness, the dildo protest stuck immediately, and spread “like an STD on a college campus,” joked Wood.

Jin explained the root of the problem as she told Wood, “In Texas, it only takes four hours to get a concealed handgun license.”

“I had a job at Baskin Robbins. It took them a week to teach me how to scoop ice cream,” Wood joked back.

Watch the full clip below to see what C.J. Grisham, the founder of Open Carry Texas, had to say about the student protests (hint: he wasn’t thrilled), and to watch the clever students in action.
