Divorce isn’t typically something to laugh about, but in the trailer for HBO’s new dark comedy starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Thomas Haden Church, it’s necessary.

Returning to the network after her Sex and the City days, Parker now stars as Frances, a woman who decides to leave her husband, Robert (Church), after more than a decade of strained marriage. However, it’s not as easy as she hoped, especially when Robert starts bringing in the big guns — a.k.a. lawyers.

Their friends aren’t helping quell the drama, either. One of Robert’s friends tells him, “You are gonna get c–k f–ked on this,” while Team Frances jokes, “So, your children are half-monster. You’ll raise them human.”

Divorce was created by Catastrophe‘s Sharon Horgan, and Girls writer Paul Simms acts as showrunner. Molly Shannon, Talia Balsam, Tracy Letts, Sterling Jerins, and Charlie Kilgore help round out the cast.
