A new Scream Queens promo is taking Lea Michele’s sadistically quirky character Hester Ulrich into the horror archives, turning her into ‘Hannibal Hester,’ as seen in a new preview for the show.
Season 2 of Scream Queens is already proving to honor horror iconography of the past by being set in a hospital, à la Halloween 2, and bringing back killers from the past. In this latest promo, the Ryan Murphy show is furthering the horror with a nod to Silence of the Lambs.
The actress took to Twitter Wednesday to share the latest trailer for the Fox show. “We’re back.. Get ready for season 2 in September,” captioned Michele, adding the hashtag #hannibalhester.
The promo features returning Chanel’s Emma Roberts, Abigail Breslin, and Billie Lourd all stuck on gurneys. New stars John Stamos and Taylor Lautner, and returning star Keke Palmer, wheel the girls through the dimly lit halls. Suddenly, university dean turned hospital owner Cathy Munsch (Jamie Lee Curtis) appears with a special patient. A tied up Hester, complete with Hannibal Lecter face mask, taunts the other girls with her evil stare.
Fans can see how the entire bloody story unfolds when season 2 of Scream Queens premieres Tuesday, Sept. 20 on Fox.
