In case just watching people hack computers on Mr. Robot wasn’t enough, now the series developers are giving fans the opportunity to jump in and try their hand at it. The franchise’s new app, called 1.51exfiltrati0n, takes users on a text-based journey, allowing them to interact via text message with characters from the show.

“Multiple text threads, playing the game out over the course of an extended period of time, will mirror how you interact with real people in real life,” said Sean Krankel, co-founder of the game’s developer, Night School Studio. “It was just a really interesting narrative challenge.”

The game will play out through text messages between the player and various hackers. Whatever the player sends in his or her text message will set off a particular chain of events, changing how the story of the game flows.

Mr. Robot: 1.51exfiltrati0n is available on iOS and Google Play now. Mr. Robot is currently airing its second season on USA Network, and was renewed for a third season on Tuesday.
