Adele has to take a break. The pop star announced Wednesday afternoon she’s canceled her second show in Phoenix later in the night because of illness.
“I’ve had a cold for a couple days, and I’ve been pushing through it. I did my show last night, and I loved it, but I pushed too hard, and my cold has gotten the better of me,” Adele said in an Instagram video, her voice raspy. “I’ve enjoyed my tour so much, and canceling show has not been something I want to do. I’ve pushed through a lot of things, but I’ve been trying to sing all morning and warming up, and nothing’s really happening.”
Before performing in Phoenix on Tuesday, Adele wrapped up a six-show stay in Los Angeles. She returns for two more performances there on Saturday and Sunday. Adele is scheduled to be on the road through November, and vowed to return for a second Phoenix gig. “It’s the last thing I want to do, but I have to look after for myself, because I got so many more shows to do,” she added. “I will reschedule this show, I promise you, and I come back, and I will smash it for you.”
