Fans hoping for a lot of Jared Leto’s Joker in Suicide Squad may be disappointed to find out a good portion of his work was left on the cutting room floor.

During an interview with TeleStar, the Dallas Buyers Club Oscar winner stated “a lot of scenes” didn’t make theatrical cut. “Hopefully they will see the light of day,” adds the actor. “But who knows.” There was no specific reason given behind the decision, however the film is full of new characters who do need introductions.

The latest DC Comics and WB property Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice also had over 30 minutes of deleted scenes, which were released through an “Ultimate Edition” Blu-ray in July. Perhaps Suicide Squad could follow suit, but until then, fans can take in The Joker’s antics that did make it into the movie in theaters Friday.
