Will Smith is such a big star that even now, more than 20 years into his career, people have a few burning questions about him. So when Smith came by The Late Show on Tuesday, host Stephen Colbert recruited him for a new round of Big Questions with Even Bigger Stars. Together, Colbert and Smith laid on their backs, looking up at the stars, and asking deep questions. Smith held his own in the deep questions department, asking Colbert if he ever thought “if we’re all just inside of some dog’s dream.”

“No, because if we were, then there wouldn’t be vacuum cleaners,” Colbert said.

“True,” said Smith. “Unless it’s a nightmare.”

Other queries revolved around reincarnation and free will. The best answer of all, though, came when Smith asked Colbert what he’d want on his gravestone.

“‘Well, I Thought It Was Funny,'” Colbert said.
