Hopefully people enjoyed video of Mark Ruffalo goofing around the Thor: Ragnarok set in Hulk gloves while it was happening, because those days are over now. After finishing filming the Thor threequel, Ruffalo posted some celebratory Instagrams on Wednesday featuring star Chris Hemsworth, director Taika Waititi, and even his own inner green self.
“Had such a great good fun time making this movie,” Ruffalo wrote in the caption for his selfie with Waititi. He also took a mirror selfie with a tank top-clad Hemsworth, and another picture gazing into the face of his own Hulk. “Laugh now, cry later,” Ruffalo wrote on that one.
Details about Thor: Ragnarok‘s plot and the extent of Ruffalo’s involvement are still scarce, though the actor did call the film “an intergalactic buddy road movie with Banner and Thor” during a press interview for Now You See Me 2.
Notably absent from this summer’s Captain America: Civil War, the Hulk was last seen flying away in a spaceship at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron. That ending led fans to speculate that the Hulk’s next steps would take cues from the popular comic storyline Planet Hulk, in which the Green Goliath becomes a space gladiator on an alien planet. Gladiatorial-looking props displayed by Marvel at San Diego Comic Con certainly seemed to line up with the theory that Thor: Ragnarok may have just as much Planet Hulk in it as, well, Ragnarok (that’s the 2004 Thor comic storyline that ended with all the Asgardians dead after an apocalyptic battle straight out of Norse mythology). Safe to say that there’s going to be a lot going on in Thor: Ragnarok.
