Action Bronson, Mark Ronson, and The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach debuted “Standing In the Rain,” their soul-burning entry for Suicide Squad‘s soundtrack, on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show Tuesday.

The single remakes Oran “Juice” Jones’ 1986 crossover hit, “The Rain,” which peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in its heyday. On the modern take, a hip-hop-rock collision, Bronson spews throwback rap atop Auerbach’s retro-soaked blues.

“I love the way Bronson sings…he’s always singing little Billy Joel melodies or old songs from the ’80s. He was singing that in the studio one time and I was like, ‘We should do something with that,” Ronson told Lowe. “Obviously I love Bronson’s voice, there’s a lot of charm to it, but then Dan has one of the great[est], most soulful voices in rock.'”

The trio joins a host of talent on the film’s all-star music lineup. Rick Ross and Skrillex teamed for “Purple Lamborghini” in July, and Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Imagine Dragons, Logic, Ty Dolla $ign, X Ambassadors collaborated for “Sucker for Pain” in June. Other contributors include Twenty One Pilots, Kehlani, Kevin Gates, Eminem, Grimes, and Panic! at the Disco.

Both Suicide Squad and its soundtrack drop Aug. 5. Listen to “Standing In the Rain” via Apple Music below.
