The gang is getting back together — that is, a very specific gang of red jaguars, purple parrots, blue barracudas, and other assorted animals from the annals of ’90s Nickelodeon.
EW has an exclusive look at the brand new trailer from Nickelodeon’s upcoming movie adaptation of Legends of the Hidden Temple — inspired by the classic game show which ran from 1993 to 1995, but which bears a legacy that’s kept it a hot topic in the nostalgia-loving 2010s.
Kirk Fogg, Dee Bradley Baker, Isabela Moner and show producer Michael Sammaciccia took the stage during Nickelodeon’s ’90s reunion panel on Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con (where they were joined by four reunited cast members of All That) to unveil new footage from the film, which stars Moner as one of three siblings who escape from a boring tour through a jungle resort and suddenly find themselves in a very real, very dangerous situation where the legends of this supposed hidden temple turn out to be quite true indeed.
In the trailer, avid fans of the show will instantly recognize a slew of throwback references to elements of the original series that will play a large part in the movie: Host Fogg, for one, will reprise his role as the guide of the hidden temple; there’s also no shortage of actual fog, green monkeys, steps of knowledge, impossibly difficult-to-assemble silver shrines, and the big man himself, Olmec (voiced once more by Baker).
Legends of the Hidden Temple also stars Colin Critchley and Jet Jurgensmeyer and is slated to debut on Nickelodeon this fall.
