Céline Dion’s latest album will be here soon: The Canadian singer’s next record, her first since 2013’s Loved Me Back to Life, arrives this August. The collection will be titled Encore un soir, French for “another night.”
This is also Dion’s first album since her husband and former manager, René Angélil, died this past January. The next month, she returned to her concert residency at Las Vegas’ Colosseum, where she paid tribute to Angélil by beginning the show with a slideshow of photos and videos and giving an emotional speech about her relationship with him.
“We were one,” she said. “And nothing has changed. We will always be one.”
Encore un soir will be Dion’s 26th studio album and 14th French-language album. Although she doesn’t have a release date for her next English-language album, she did recently reveal to EW that Pink wrote her a song for it.
“You cannot be more excited than me, I’ll tell you,” Dion said. She went on to explain that Pink approached her about the song soon after both Angélil and Dion’s brother, Daniel, died in January.
“She’s a genuine person, and [it was] so generous of her to take the time to write a song for me during the most difficult time of mine,” Dion said. “People have a tendency to send me really sad songs, and we do want to sing the touching songs, but life is beautiful, and I really want to believe that René has a life after his life, that he doesn’t suffer anymore.”
Encore un soir will be out Aug. 26 and available for preorder July 21. Those who preorder the record will also immediately receive the lead single, composed by Grammy-winning songwriter and frequent Dion collaborator Jean-Jacques Goldman.
