The force will reawaken on TV this fall.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will premiere on Starz Sept. 10, the premium cable channel announced Friday. The record- breaking movie will air on all six Starz channels at 9 p.m. ET and will be available for download via the Starz mobile app on that day.
Starz gained the rights to the J.J. Abrams-directed movie under an existing deal it already had with Disney, which bought Lucasfilm in 2012. During its theatrical run, Star Wars: The Force Awakens brought in $937.66 million domestically, making it the No. 1 film of all time in North America, not accounting for inflation.
