Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Emmy nominations include Settle for Me

The Classic Hollywood-inspired dance number gets much-deserved recognition.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend missed out on major nominations in the drama categories, but did garner four total nods, including for “Settle For Me.” The song, performed by Santino Fontana, scored a nomination in the Original Music and Lyrics, and was one of three routines from the show up for a single Choreography nod.

“Settle For Me,” a modern take on Old Hollywood musicals, marks a big moment for Fontana’s Greg. He swallows what’s left of his pride and makes a desperate romantic bid for Rebecca (Rachel Bloom).¬†Adam Schlesinger, the talented Executive Music Producer and composer behind Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, wrote the tune, with Bloom co-writing the lyrics.

The show’s other nominations include Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing For A Drama Series and Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music.
