All of the fine actors nominated for Emmy awards Thursday morning will definitely be happy with their honor, but Anthony Anderson had the unique experience of being in the room when his name was announced.
“Hi mom! I know you’re watching,” Anderson gleefully yelled into the camera after his co-presenter Lauren Graham revealed that he was nominated for Outstanding Comedy Actor for his role in Black-ish.
Anderson’s ecstatic antics didn’t stop there. The actor also brimmed with pride enthusiatically when it was announced that his television wife Tracee Ellis Ross was nominated for Outstanding Comedy Actress, and cheered when Black-ish was nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series.
Anderson is up against Aziz Ansari, Will Forte, William H. Macy, Thomas Middleditch, and Jeffrey Tambor for best actor in a comedy at the 2016 Emmy Awards.
Watch Anderson’s hilarious reaction in the video below — it occurs around the 28:12 mark.
