An upcoming comedy starring Ryan Reynolds and a reboot to a horror franchise have received 2017 release dates by distributor Lionsgate, EW has confirmed.
Summit Entertainment’s action comedy The Hitman’s Bodyguard will follow the world’s top protection agent (Reynolds) as he escorts his new client and former foe (Samuel L. Jackson) through dangerous territory. A murderous dictator (Gary Oldman) threatens the new duo who only have 24 hours to save the day. It will open Aug. 18, 2017.
The new untitled reboot for Saw, slated for Oct. 27, 2017, will be co-directed by Michael and Peter Spierig, but plot details and casting are still under wraps.
News of the release dates comes alongside Wednesday’s news that the Liam Neeson thriller The Commuter will hit theaters Oct. 13, 2017.
