You could make a terrific, subtle drama with high caliber actors like Hal Holbrook, Ed Harris, and E.G. Marshall. Or you could make an unforgettable, gross-out horror anthology. In the early ’80s, director George Romero, writer Stephen King, and visual effects wizard Tom Savini opted to do the latter and created Creepshow, the EC comics-inspired terrorfest, which also starred Adrienne Barbeau, Leslie Nielsen, Ted Danson, and King himself, among others.

Director Michael Felsher’s documentary Just Desserts: The Making of Creepshow tracks the production of this collaboration between genre titans. The doc is now available on Blu-ray from Synapse Films and you can see a clip featuring Romero and Savini, above.
