Halle Berry is the latest star to speak out following the recent shooting deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.

“What will my brown son’s future be? What will your brown son’s future be?” the actress asked on Instagram late Thursday. “The uncertainty is real. I beg you not to be a bystander in this life, but to go out and find ways to make peaceful change.”

Berry went on to urge fans to seek change in their local communities, pledging to find ways she could get involved herself.

“Our boys need us so rather than launching into deep sentiment here on this platform, I promise to find ways to get involved and help. Please do the same,” she wrote. “You can start by reaching out to your local politicians, legislators & government officials NOW. Let us be heard.”

Berry joins a trove of celebrities sounding off against the deaths of Sterling and Castile, two black men shot and killed by police officers this week.

Sterling, 37, was shot and killed by Louisiana police officers on Tuesday; Castile was shot and killed Wednesday during a traffic stop in Minnesota. Castile’s girlfriend live streamed the aftermath of his shooting on Facebook.

President Barack Obama, Beyoncé, Jay Z, Drake, and Julia Stiles are among those that have since condemned the deaths.
