The Intervention trailer brings together familiar TV faces

Posted on

Television favorites unite in the trailer for The Intervention, where four couples go on a weekend getaway — which is just an excuse to tell one of them that they need to get a divorce.

Clea DuVall, most recently seen on Veep, makes her writing and directing debut with the film, which premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival.

The cast, led by DuVall, is filled out with many faces recognizable from their past and current TV roles like Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation), Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother), Natasha Lyonne (Orange is the New Black), Jason Ritter (Parenthood), Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development), Vincent Piazza (Boardwalk Empire), and Melanie Lynskey (Togetherness).

The Intervention, scored by Sara Quin of Tegan and Sara, arrives in theaters August 26.
